10722: Eversharp pencil: rare early production model with trowel clip, predating Wahl's takeover; 13.2 cm long, nickel plated/nickel silver, smooth pattern; marked "PATENTED" and "EVER SHARP"; clip slightly wavy from restraightening, crown worn with one small rim bump, a few small marks to the front end of the barrel; uses 1.1 mm lead.

10685: Eversharp pencil: rare gold filled model with trowel clip, first Wahl production, but predating Wahl's takeover; 13.5 cm long, "Check" pattern, marked "PATENTED", "20 YEAR GOLD FILLED", and "EVER SHARP"; name engraved on barrel, a few small bumps to the front of the barrel, but condition is otherwise very clean and much better than is usually the case with these early examples.

10082: Eversharp pencil: early production gold filled "Check" pattern, 13.3 cm long, with "EVER SHARP" imprint, no mention of Wahl, but made immediately after Wahl's takeover of Eversharp; very clean, one shallow bump to front of barrel; uses 1.1 mm lead.

10217: Eversharp pencil: early production, gold filled, 13.5 cm long, with "EVER SHARP" imprint, "GOLD FILLED" and "PATENTED"; no mention of Wahl, but made immediately after Wahl's takeover of Eversharp; uses 1.1 mm lead, one patch of brassing and a slight flat spot towards the front of the barrel, light bump to the crown, name lightly and elegantly engraved on barrel of John F. Oertel, most likely to be identified with the proprietor of the Oertel Brewing Company of Louisville, Kentucky.

9497: Eversharp pencil in box: desk pencil (no matching fountain pen), 13.9 cm long, rosewood hard rubber barrel, chrome plated trim, uses 1.1 mm lead; in original box, with Spanish-language instructions. We have acquired a small hoard of these, and though they are new old stock, they have clearly not always been stored in a perfectly dry environment. The steel tip cones have rusted, but can easily be polished down (see photos) or replaced (the tips unscrew, and spares can be taken from other Eversharps). Several available.
