7011: Wahl-Eversharp Signature: unusual oversize black chased hard rubber lever-filler, 13.9 cm long, gold filled trim, roller clip, made in Canada; material is unusual, with many lighter flecks, as one sometimes sees when the same machinery is used to make both black and red hard rubber (black flecks in red is more usual, however); appears to have originally been given a black coating, still present at the front of the barrel where protected by the cap; big, responsive #6 nib, some scrapes to the barrel threads, hairline crack to the cap lip, stabilized by the cap band (see detail).

extra-fine stub flex • $325
9311: Wahl Monitor: oversize red hard rubber flat-top lever-filler, 14.1 cm long, gold filled trim; uncommon sub-brand version of the early Signature line, with characteristic Wahl-made warranted nib with stylized "W" logo. Clean, with strong imprints, but a few tight stable hairlines in the cap lip, none extending beyond the cap band.
DATE: c. 1926 • CONDITION: VG-fine* • NIB: fine flex • $285
9080: Wahl-Eversharp Palmer Method lever-filler: rare Signature-series pen made for sale by Palmer Method handwriting schools; 13.3 cm long, gold filled trim, warranted #2 nib probably a replacement (not clearly a Wahl-made warranted nib) but a good writer; pen worn and discolored but mechanically sound. Similar pens were made for the Gregg shorthand system, but the Palmer Method version is much less common.

8733: Wahl Signature: full-size jade green lever-filler, 13.7 cm long, gold filled trim, short-lived configuration with black trim ring on cap and black ends, very hard to find this early green celluloid without severe discoloration; silicone sac has been installed to preserve color, but this pen is not recommended as a user.
DATE: c. 1927 • CONDITION: exc • NIB: fine flex • $600
9470: Wahl-Eversharp Equi-Poised: solid orange celluloid lever-filler, 13.2 cm long, gold filled trim, Gold Seal, roller clip, 18K Gold Seal Signature nib. This color -- "Danish red" -- was made only for export to Denmark and is rarely seen, with most surviving pens in deplorable condition. Cap is very clean, easily excellent to near mint, barrel shows wear at the end (apparently from polishing), crack in barrel threads has been skilfully repaired (raking light photo greatly exaggerates the repair's visibility).

8958: Wahl-Eversharp Equi-Poised: unusual and uncatalogued Gold Seal ringtop lever-filler, 10.5 cm long, gold filled trim, very flexible #2 nib; Gold Seal has been drilled (indicating the pen was sold without the Gold Seal lifetime warranty), cap lip hairline has been professionally sealed (see detail).

9599: Wahl-Eversharp Monitor: a scarce Wahl syringe-filler, red pearl with gold plated trim, transparent celluloid barrel with long blind cap, untipped turn-up two-tone stainless steel nib has lost its plating, section is a Personal Point model with screw-in nib assembly. Piston seal has not been replaced and is not ink-tight.

9581: Wahl-Eversharp Monitor: most unusual -- a Wahl syringe-filler! Black with gold plated trim, transparent celluloid barrel with long black blind cap, nib is the fancier two-tone version of the typical Monitor untipped stainless nib found on the more common lever-fillers and bulb-fillers. Lest there be any doubt of this pen's maker, the section is a Personal Point model with screw-in nib assembly. Barrel is slightly bent.
