10588: Sheaffer Craig: rare full length black chased hard rubber coin-filler, 13.4 cm long, warranted #3 nib, narrow keel feed, mechanically sound, evenly faded, more wear to barrel but imprint clear; the coin-filling system was never used by Sheaffer for its own-brand pens, and is seldom seen in their Craig sub-brand either.

9982: Sheaffer lever-filler: black hard rubber with gold filled foliate filigree overlay, 13.6 cm long; hard rubber is glossy and only slightly faded, metalwork crisp, noting initials on indicia, #2 nib has what appears to be a superficial manufacturing flaw, a sort of blister-crack running through the "2" of the imprint, but is a very good writer and functionally perfect; narrow feed, raised narrow barrel threads -- a fine example of a very early Sheaffer overlay.

medium fine flex • $1100
10699: Sheaffer Self-Filling: black hard rubber clipless lever-filler, rare and desirable slotted pattern gold filled overlay, 13.8 cm long, smooth #3 Self-Filling nib, narrow finless feed; a few shallow pinhead dings to cap indicia, lever spring is weak so lever needs to be helped back after filling, broken barrel mouth has been neatly repaired by splicing in the front portion of another matching Sheaffer barrel (see details).

10560: Sheaffer lever-filler: rare gold filled ringtop, 8.5 cm long, like an overlay Pigmy with that model's distinctive lever with rounded tab at end; dents and wear to end of barrel, small #2 Self Filling nib is missing tipping on one side, multiple breaks to the hard rubber forebarrel have been glued but the pen is strictly a display piece.

10549: Sheaffer Univer: rare oversize flat-top lever-filler in orange-tinted black and pearl, 13.65 cm long, gold filled trim but only gold wash (now missing) on clip, comb feed, correct #6 Sheaffer-made warranted nib has scant iridium and is rather scratchy. Sheaffer extended the color range of their Univer sub-brand by applying tinted celluloid lacquer over black and pearl. In this case, the original color is beginning to show where the pen has been polished over the years. Most Univers are small and round-ended; oversize examples are seldom seen.
