Here are some fine Waterman pens made in the United
States for the French market; all were acquired
in Europe. From the top: a small Ripple hard rubber clipless safety with 18k
solid gold overlay; a 42 Ripple safety in near mint condition; a 15S mottled
hard rubber safety, with 18k solid gold bands; a large 46 woodgrain safety with
original French Waterman add-on clip; and a boldly-patterned near mint 76, a rare late
screw-cap eyedropper, with a similar clip.
Add-on clips and overlays over Ripple hard
rubber are typically French features, and both safety pens and
eyedropper-fillers remained popular in France much longer than in North
America.
